Beaver Meadow Lean-to is adjacent to the Finger Lakes Trail between Alder Lake DEC campground and Balsam Lake Mountain, and yes, it faces an open meadow.

As lean-tos go, this one is OK, but the fire pit is kind of a mess and there is no picnic table. The privy is in pieces - possibly vandalized.

Even so, it was a nice place to take a nap on my way back down from Balsam Lake Mountain.
