Although full to the brim now Pejar Dam famously went dry several years ago during a drought. You could literally walk across it & trees had started to grow in locations that would ideally be well under water. Visitors to Goulburn were asked to bring their own water so bad was the situation.
The local council proposed a pipeline be built to transfer water from the Shoalhaven River Scheme which forms part of the Sydney water supply & the NSW Government agreed. The pipeline is now complete & Goulburn should never run out of water again.
The wall of Pejar Dam is also the main road so I took the co-ordinates beside the road bridge above the spillway which is the public viewing area.
The dam is well known for its trout.
