The first settler arrived in the district in 1836 & gold was discovered in Tuena Creek in the 1850's. Tuena grew rapidly to service the needs of miners & was declared a town in 1859. This is one of three churches in the village which is now just a fraction of its former size.
The church is constructed of local stone & sits high above the main road. There is a small rose garden beside the ramp. There is no resident Minister, rather he attends from Goulburn. A service is held on the first Sunday of each month at 3 pm.
