First saw mill in Guelph in 1827. Throughout the mill’s history it has operated as a wheat mill, flour mill, tannery, distillery and a warehouse. A fire damaged the main section of the mill in 1864. Another fire in 1953 completely destroyed the mill. The mill was turned over to public ownership in 1976 when the Grand River Conservation Authority bought it. The ruins were stabilized and gardens and an amphi-theatre added for public enjoyment.
May be reserved for performances or other events. A projection screen and hydro is available. It will hold up to 160 persons. Public washrooms are available in 75 Cardigan Street adjacent to the Mill. (
