Dat het gebied nog niet zo lang bestaat kun je duidelijk zien aan de jonge bomen en planten. Bij de vennetjes en in de graslanden hebben inmiddels al talloze soorten insecten en vogels hun thuis gevonden. Ook andere dieren zoals schapen zijn hier te zien. De aanwezige stuifduinen zijn in de loop der jaren flink begroeid. Je kunt er heerlijk wandelen en ook honden zijn toegestaan om een frisse duik te nemen in de plassen.

Dit natuurgebied ligt precies tussen twee bungalowparken en via de Heere Peel kan men de aangrenzende Schadijker Bossen ontdekken die uitermate geschikt zijn voor mooie wandelingen door bos en heide.

Het is ook mogelijk om het gebied van de Heere Peel met de fiets te ontdekken, aangezien dit punt aansluit op het fietsroute netwerk. Knooppunten 40 en 41 liggen hier vlakbij.

Tip : In en rondom de Heere Peel liggen een aantal leuke Geocaches die men kan oppikken.

The Heere Peel is a piece of landscape that is created by the Municipality of Horst aan de Maas in 2003, as part of a larger
nature- and recreation area.

That this landscape doesn't exist so long is clearly visible by the presence of young trees and plants. Countless species of insects and birds already found their home in the pond and grasslands. Also other animals such as sheep can be seen here. The sand dunes have been overgrown over the years. You can enjoy a walk and even dogs are allowed to come along and go for a refreshing swim in the lakes.

This nature area is situated exactly between two bungalow parks but yet very quiet. Via the Heere Peel, you can also explore the adjacent Schadijker Forests which are perfect for scenic walks through woodland and heath.

It is also possible to explore the area of the Heere Peel by bike as this point is in connection with the cycle route network.
Cycle route junctions 40 and 41 are located nearby.

Tip: In and around the Heere Peel are some nice Geocaches that can be found and logged.
