The factory was built on the site of the form Adams Paper Company which burned in 1886. The factory was equipped with 35,000 spindles and 700 looms to make "fine counts of carded cotton". The mill today looks very much like it did when built. With the expanding business the Plunkett family built 3 additional mills. Manufacturing of cotton products continued into the 1960's.

Today the mill has been converted to apartments.
