This bronze Bald Eagle, Our Guardian, is perched high on a large stone, watchful of visitors and passersby. He is so regal sitting here; one is respectful of the struggle to preserve this magnificent bird.

In 1963, the Bald Eagle was placed on the United States endangered list and after 40 years it was final removed from the list. The Bald Eagle thrives and populations are continuing to increase.

There are several sculptures in this park, by talented artist Eric Thorsen. His primary works include both bronze and wood carvings. His galley is close by, and he welcomes visitors to his studio.

"In 2000, Eric was honored by receiving the Society of Animal Artists Award of Excellence. For four consecutive years, 2000 - 2003 Eric received the People's Choice Award for Best Sculpture at the C.M. Russell Art Auction! Most recently Eric has installed sculptures commissioned by the city of Norwalk, California, NIKE World Campus, Beaverton, Oregon and The Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Walkway in Helena, Montana."
