The Aurora Rural Fire Association was formed in 1950. The Aurora Rural Fire Department came into being in 2013. Although the ARFD does not have its own web site or pages (yet), it does have a good page on Facebook -- see the web link below. Click on the About link on their Facebook page to see the current information regarding engines and staff.
Notice that this building was originally just 2 bays, and that the bay closest to the road was added later. The words Aurora Rural Fire Dept. are painted beautifully on the back of the building toward the corn field. But since the field is fenced off, only the corn (and the farmer that owns it) sees it. You can catch glimpses of it through the trees on the way to the station driveway.
