A very long but not very high waterfall built to create an area of calm water behind. Used previously a power for watermills and for sailing with barges.

This very long (but only a few meters high) artificial waterfall is like nothing else. It is built inside an old industrial area known as "Industrilandskabet" (Industrial Landscape) in order to control the water of the Motala Stream at all times. At times with low water enough water could be maintained for sailing, at times with much water a calm area was created behind the waterfall while the torrent would bypass it.
At winter it is illuminated.
There is an intricate system of waterlocks, ramps and even a crane for controlling the eater flow and handling boats between the different levels of water.
