This station was built along the Waterloo Junction Railway. The railway was built in the 1880s before being bought by the Grand Trunk Railway in 1892. It was then absorbed into CN and was also used by Canadian Pacific. The line and station were abandoned in the 1990s before being used for the Waterloo-St. Jacobs Railway Company. It was then renovated as a tourist attraction in 2000 by the City of Waterloo.
