The mark is a bronze disk, marked "U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey Benchmark - 1928 - BM2". It is located on the N wall of a square concrete building approximately 100 ft. N of the lighthouse on the breakwater off the E shore of Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, DE. The mark is approx. 2 ft. above the ground, and is located near the NE corner of the structure. The mark can be accessed by boat (kayak is easiest) from the Fishing Pier (directional signs are located throughout the park). People wishing to rent kayaks can do so from the building located next to the pier (weather permitting), and it is about a 0.7 mile paddle from shore to the breakwater.
