In Boston, along the walkway traversing the Charles River Dam and Locks, is this installation of playable tubular bells known as "Charlestown Bells."

The installation is installed on the wall overhanging the river and near the fish ladder. You can get there from either end of the dam - one end by North Station/New Boston Garden, and the other via Paul Revere Park.

The bells, about 30 of them, are mounted horizontally and are mostly on the other side of the wall. Handles are on the near side, however. You give a good push on the lever to sound the bell. There is even an engraving of the note that the bell gives.

Nearby is a plaque with the following:
"Paul Matisse
Charlestown Bells
2000"

According to a blog article the installation was recently taken down by the artist, Paul Matisse, taken back to his studio and refurbished and reworked to make them more sturdy. Paul Matisse is the grandson of famous artist, Henri Matisse.

I'm not sure if you were to play each bell in order whether it would play a recognizable song. Try it and see!
