Ironton City Hall, built in 1917, is a two-story brick and stucco structure which also houses the Ironton Fire Department. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
Ironton was platted in 1910 and incorporated in 1911. It is directly west of the city of Crosby. Ironton is northeast of Brainerd on Minnesota Highway 210.
At the 2010 Census, Ironton had a population of 572.
