The Greenbelt Master Plan proposes the creation of a 56-kilometre pathway that will provide a continuous and varied recreational and educational experience along the complete length of the National Capital Greenbelt.
This section starts a 3-metre wide stone dust pathway from Woodroffe to Blacks Rapids Locks Station for a distance of 4.3 kilometers. The first phase from Woodroffe to Merivale was completed in 2008. The second phase to Blacks Rapids is/was delayed until the City of Ottawa completed the environmental assessment for the widening of Prince of Wales Drive.
