This fountain is located at the far west end of the Red River Journey, a quarter-mile historic walk with markers describing various events, places and people that were influential in the settling and developing of Oklahoma. Though it is named a "waterfall," it is more suitably described as a fountain.
The raised portion is a 15 ft. diameter pool constructed of native Oklahoma red sandstone, raised 3 ft. above ground level. The backdrop for this pool is a wall of large stacked sandstone boulders. Small 2 ft. high water fountains pump water into the pool, which overflows the wall into a larger-diameter circle 3 ft. wide. The water flows over small sandstone rocks forming a waterfall effect.
