This mystery building is on the north side of historic Baker Street in downtown Nelson, in the 400 block.

Its address would be 485, 487, 489 - in that range. With many of the buildings surrounding it having been built in the late 1800s and early 1900s, this building would have been a relative latecomer to the scene. With some nice brickwork on the façade and at the cornice, there was obvious attention to detail in its construction.
Strangely, there is no front entrance to this building. The entire lower floor front is glass, covered with an enlargement of a photograph of a horse race (well attended, I might add) that took place on Baker Street probably right around the turn of the twentieth century.
