The clock sits on the separating gate between the lobby and the old bank. The face of the clock has a lite stain glass gold background with black hands and digits. The face is mounted in a diamond like enclosure and to me it looks Egyptian. The entire interior is Art Deco as well as the outside of the building.
The Guardian Building (once called the Union Trust Building) was completed in 1929. It has been declared a National Historic Landmark.
The clock, interior and exterior are must sees if you are in Detroit.
