The co-ordinates given are for the Church Lane entrance to the underpass where a stainless-steel plaque (see photos) advises of the Hitchcock Gallery. All the exhibits are mosaics.
This mosaic is entitled "Saboteur". The plaque, at the mosaic, tells us:
Saboteur
1942
Handcuffed together Robert Cummings as Barry Kane and Priscilla Lane as Patricia Martin, escape from a gang of enemy saboteurs. In the background is the old Leytonstone High Road.
"The drama of a nation stirred to action, of a people's growing realisation of themselves and their responsibilities" - Motion Picture Herald
The two escapees are seated in the front seat of a car and are handcuffed together. A wide range of coloured pieces are used especially in the top of the mosaic where a street scene is depicted. The car is green and the characters are both wearing red. Black is used for some minor shadow effects.
The mosaic is about four feet high by three feet wide.
