Recently (26 June, 2014) dedicated marker honouring the lifes work of James Collip. He, along with Frederick Banting and Charles Best, made the life-saving discovery of insulin.
He received a portion of the Nobel Peace Prize money for his efforts.
In later years he became a renowned expert in the field of endocrinology.
The marker is placed near the public library, at the corner of Pinnacle and Campbell Streets simply because it is a well-travelled area in the city, and would benefit from added exposure.
