It's hard to believe that the county jail is so small, but that was in the late 1800's.

The County Jail today sits just about 500 feet north of here and has many more cells than just what this jail in 1892 offered. This is now part of the museum and the historic courthouse grounds. As soon as you were convicted from the courthouse, 50 feet away you could have been sent directly here, to this jail.
