Harold W. Zinke was born in 1931 and died in 2012. He was a car salesman in Mendota. This bench dedicated to his memory was made with no name or markings on it directly. Instead, a separate plaque was made to be placed below the bench, in modesty. Harold was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church across the road from this bench, but he is not interred at the graveyard (Brooklyn Lutheran Cemetery). He was interred at the large cemetery in Mendota. The placement of the bench in a field all by itself across from the church is a bit of a puzzle. The church owns that field; and perhaps they plan on using it for more memorials or a park or something.
