"Hilda S. Kreitzberg

MISSOULA - Hilda S. Kreitzberg, 100, Missoula's oldest continuous resident, died July 17, 2000, at Community Medical Center. Born April 7, 1900, she was one of six children of Anton Schilling and Emma Eigeman. Anton came from Germany in 1884 and Emma, her father, brother and four sisters from Switzerland in 1890. All settled in Missoula and raised the families of Schilling, Eigeman, Sidler, Bickel, Kramis and Richlie.

Hilda's greatest joy was spending the summers at her cabin on Placid Lake where she was visited by her rapidly growing family. Each morning she cooked pancakes for all hands, perhaps one hundred thousand from 1950-1998.

Playing a weekly game with her bridge club was an important part of her life for over 50 years. She often won. She continued to play bridge very well to the end.

Mrs. Kreitzberg is survived by her four sons George, James, Richard of Salem, Ore., and Carl of Media, Penn.; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony's Church on Wednesday, July 19 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John P. Miller officiating. Internment will be at Saint Mary's Cemetery next to her husband, John S. Kreitzberg, who died in 1948."
