County of obelisk: Adair County
Location of obelisk: US 63, Rotary Park, Kirksville

The obelisk was built in 1932, with names added in 1959 and 1976.
The huge wall behind the obelisk was built in 2000, it contains the names of every one who served in the military from Adair County since the county was formed.

The names on the obelisk are ONLY those who gave the supreme sacrifice, and are listed by conflict.

Text before the list: "In Memory of Those who Made the Supreme Sacrifice in the Korean Conflict"
The text is the same on each side with the war name changing.
