Lenzburg Castle is located on a 100 meters high hill east of the old town of Lenzburg. The fully intact castle is one of the oldest and most important ones in Switzerland.
The castle became a history museum in 1987. In 2007 "Museum Aargau" was founded, a history museum organization that contains large history museums in six different historical places in the canton Aargau.
The location Lenzburg Castle covers five sections of this collection: Domestic Live of the castle residents, Armoury, Sacral Art, Culture of the Banquet and Silver, and a children's museum.
