Steve Belenky was born September 10, 1887 and he died on July 2, 1988 at the age of 100.

The Carstairs Cememtery is a small community cemetery, however the town of Carstairs is planning an expansion to the Northside of the cemetery. There are approximately 1,055 interments including Steve and, his wife Pearl, Belenky. Pearl preceeded Steve in death just two months prior to his death.

Steve Belenky lived through many events that took place in Alberta and thoughout Canada and the United States. He witnessed the tragic events of WW I and WW II and the Korean War.

1889 - June 3 - The Canadian Pacific Railway is completed from coast to coast.
