The Wonder Mixer was Made by the Waterloo Construction Machine Company of Waterloo, IA. Initially named the Waterloo Cement Machinery Corporation on its founding in 1909, the name was changed to the Waterloo Construction Machine Company in November of 1920 and became known by its CMC initials. Waterloo claimed that the Wonder mixer was the first single-opening mixer on the market when introduced in 1911. It was initially patented in 1905. The company used the Wonder trade name for its mixers, hoists and pumps. The Wonder trade name was apparently dropped sometime in the late 1940s.
This is a Size 4 mixer bearing serial number 10442. Difficult to say what its date of manufacture might be - anywhere between ca 1910 and 1945. It seems that these mixers were supposed to have a small stationary engine which drove the mixer, which this mixer no longer possesses. There is a mounting platform for the engine below the drive wheel.
