Standing by the sidewalk in front of City Hall, this is a life-sized bronze sculpture of a buffalo, mounted on a concrete slab. We dd not see the artist's name on the piece.

The buffalo has his head somewhat lowered, and his legs braced. He doesn't look like he's going to charge, but he doesn't seem to be saying "Welcome to Sulphur" either.

The buffalo is somewhat of an iconic Oklahoma figure since these prairie lands were once teaming with wild herds. We see a good many fiberglass buffalo statues in Oklahoma towns, some painted with lavish designs and murals, but this is the first bronze we've seen.
