South of the railway station and across the tracks from the elevators, this McCormick-Deering 15-30 sits in an open area hitched to a manure spreader. This McCormick is a 15-30, producing a tested 26.67 hp at the drawbar and 34.91at the belt, well over claimed power. The engine is a 6.3L 4-cylinder kerosene burner, made by International. Weight is right on 6,000 pounds. All the tractors in this series had a three speed transmission with a single reverse gear, giving a top speed of 4 MPH. The 15-30 had a relatively short production run of seven years, from 1923 to 1929. This tractor's serial number - TG66210 - tells us that it was manufactured in 1928. This would have been one of the first tractors offered with a PTO.
