The Pack River Cemetery is located in Bonner County. This is a small community cemetery with approximately 500 internments.

This is a well done homemade grave marker. It is a flat sided stone with black lettering. The highlighting gives the lettering depth and character. There is also an elk painted on the stone.

It is inscribed the Moe's full name and dates of birth and death. He was born October 11, 1952 and died November 6, 2000.

Francis "Moe" Milton Balison passed away November 6, 2008 after a short battle with cancer.

At his request there will be no public service, he has been laid to rest in the Pack River Cemetery.

Moe was born October 11, 1932 in Kootenai, Idaho. He lived all of his life in Bonner County and built roads on most of the mountains in the county.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Lola, 3 daughters Cheryl Rink, Linda Redmon, and Colleen Lewis; 7 grandchildren Matt (Marcy) Bloom, Amanda (Kraig) Brown, Colt (Renee') Rink, Cord Rink, Shaina, Farryn, and Hyatt Balch. 3 great grandchildren Landon Balch, Henley Bloom, and Kash Farrens; a foster son Justin Happell, a son in law Sterling Rink; 2 brothers Brownie (Rosie) Balison, and Pete Balison.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elwood and Nellie Balison and 3 brothers Stanley, Dan, and Dale Balison.

Memorial donations may be made to either Bonner Community Hospice or the Gideon's.

During December of 1922, M. S. Crowder held a meeting of the local men to form the Pack River Cemetery Association. W. T. Taylor was the original chairman. They purchased five acres of land from the Humbird Lumber Company for $50.00. It has also been referred to as the Oden Cemetery.

Per an article in the Pend Oreille Review dated Thursday 07-10-1924: Mr. Roscoe Prather was the first grave in Pack River aka Oden Cemetery. He had apparently committed suicide by hanging for the purpose of being the first burial in the new cemetery.
