Elding's websitehttp://www.whalewatching.is/whale-watching.aspx informs us:
Conveniently located in Reykjavík's old harbour, a few hour tour with Elding can bring you up close to whales and birds in their natural habitat all year round. The drama, joy and poetry of these beautiful whales are seen on around 95% of our tours in the summer and 80% in the winter. Our whale watching tours are wildlife excursions and therefore each tour is unique. Tourists delight in the sightings of minke and humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises and various sea birds such as puffins, gannets, guillemots, gulls, kittiwakes, arctic terns and many more depending on the season. The whales often surface within a few meters from our boats due to our strict observation of IceWhale's codes of conduct for responsible whale watching. To ensure that the animals are not disturbed by our presence, we sail at a constant speed towards their habitat. This also is part of our sustainability policy we try to minimize oil use and pollution.
Safety and comfort are always top priorities for us. During the tour expert guides inform and educate passengers about safety precautions, surroundings and the wildlife on the bay. All our boats are equipped with restrooms, onboard café and safety equipment. During the tour passengers can enjoy light refreshments, sit down in our indoor saloon or enjoy the view on great viewing platforms. A mini-wildlife library is open during the tour and the younger generation is encouraged to express their artistic view of the wild life on the bay. To make the trip even more comfortable we provide warm, floatable overalls, raincoats and/or blankets for our passengers during the tour."
