This old spring house is located in a new Massachusetts Audubon Sanctuary formerly owned by the nearby religious shrine and was once a destination for clear, clean mineral springs for vacationers.

In Attleboro, behind the LaSalette Shrine, is this spring house that once was part of a mineral springs retreat.
The spring house is located near the entrance to the Attleboro Springs Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, overseen by the nearby Oak Knolls Sanctuary. From MA Route 116/Park Street, enter at the LaSalette Shrine main entrance, then drive straight, by the shrine, to the end where there is a small parking lot for the sanctuary. At the parking lot, there is a kiosk with a map. The spring house is marked on the map. The path to it is not on the map. At the end of a wooden rail fence is a small path that goes north. Follow this path for about 100 ft to the location.
The house is an open structure at the base of a slope. The spring comes out at the base of a brick and cement structure with a fixture on top. Water still trickles out the bottom.
According to a blog, James Solomon, who cared for cancer patients through herbal methods, founded a sanitarium at this location where patients could come and get treatments and healing (year not given). It failed soon, however, and the Methodist Church bought it in 1919 and made it into a retreat. La Salette bought the property in 1942 and built the Shrine on it. In 1999, the original sanitarium burned down, and this, I believe, is part of the ruins of that sanitarium. So, there may have been more to this house.
