The house at 222 Delaware Street was originally built between 1730 and 1750. The brick, three-story, five-bay gambrel-roofed commercial and residential building was altered considerably circa 1900. The alterations included the gambrel roof and a new facade.

The building appears to be in very good condition and has a law office in part and formerly had a restaurant on the other half of the facade however it has closed. Other parts of the building are used for residential units.
