This small country church is Mt. Gilead United Brethren Church. It is near the town of Paoli in southern Indiana. It is located on N. Sandy Hook Rd., approximately 3 miles from town.
There is a small churchyard cemetery here with many interments over 100 years old. There are also more current interments as well. With the amount of headstones with the name "Wells", it is assumed that this was a family homestead church at one point for the Wells family.
There are 2 dates above the door to the church. One date is "1856" and the other being "1922". My best assumption would be this is the second building, with this one being built in 1922, which would fit the look of the church building for other country churches in the area from this time from.
