Located on the west side of Center Street Bridge are four sunken relief panels made of granite that embody the elements of Reno and the surrounding area to include the Truckee River for which this bridge spans and the nearby Carson Mountain Range to the west. Although subtle, these relief panels imbedded in the sidewalk are a nice accent to the bridge, which was rebuilt in 1998. Although I could not locate any artist information on these panels, I do know from reading about the bridge construction from 1998 that the artwork on this bridge was commissioned as part of the Art in Public Places and most likely created by a local artist.
