This marble horse trough was placed here to commemorate both the accession in 1910 and the coronation in 1911 of King George V. It is now used as a flower planter.

The full inscription reads:

                        GEORGE V
                 Proclaimed May 6th 1910
                  Crowned June 22nd 1911

It has been placed next to the old milepost in the centre of the village.
