Today, the Fort Alexander First Nation is known as the Sagkeeng First Nation, and is nearby the town of Pine Falls, Manitoba. Members of the Sagkeeng First Nation are Ojibway, or otherwise known as Chippewa and Anishinaabe.

Many Indian reserves in Canada were established by the Indian Act of 1876.

The coordinates of a site to visit within area are for the Sagkeeng First Nation Arena Complex which is about 4 1/2 miles west of the entrance sign.
