The Garden of the Rockies Museum in Ronan has a bunch of cool old stuff outside, including several pieces of old farm machinery, of which this silage harvester is one.

This is a pretty small harvester - we suspect it may have been used to harvest corn for silage as the cutter table is only about four feet wide, at most. The cut silage was passed back to a combination chopper/fan that blew it into a wagon running alongside. The chute may have been designed to be turned 90 degrees so that the wagon could be pulled behind the harvester. This became common in later years.

Manufacturer is unknown as the only discernable marking found on the machine was the wordStandard.

The museum is on Round Butte Road at the corner of 6th Avenue NW. on the west edge of the town of Ronan, MT.
