Williams, Arizona, located in the heart of the Kaibab National Forest Over a mile high, at an elevation of 6,770 feet. Williams is the Gateway to the Grand Canyon, with the Historic Route 66 at its Heart.
Williams was the last town on Historic Route 66 to be bypassed by the Interstate. The community was bypassed by the I.40 on October 13th 1984. Williams now continues to thrive on tourism.

Historic Route 66, passes through the center of Williams, along W. Railroad Ave. & E. Bill Williams Ave. which is a one way system through the Town Center.

"Founded in 1881, Williams was named for the famous trapper, scout and mountain man, "Old Bill Williams." A statue of "Old Bill" stands in Monument Park, located on the west side of the city.
