The Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department sits in the downtown part of this town on an island in Narragansett Bay - thus, they need the boat!

In Jamestown's downtown section is the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department.
Jamsetown, RI is the sole town on Conanicut Island at the mouth of Narragansett Bay. However, it isn't isolated - two bridges connect it to the mainland via the Newport-Pell Bridge to the east and the Jamestown-Verrazano Bridge to the west. The station is located on Narragansett Avenue, at the intersection with Coronado Street. The building is a structure 2 1/2 stories tall and with a peaked, shingled roof. The first floor has a stone face, and the second has wood-shingles. There are five bay doors to the building. On top of the roof, toward the left side (it looks like the last two doors had been added later), is a cupola with a clock. I believe the smaller building at the right is the old firestation, and the present one was built later.
In 1890, the first fire equipment was purchased for the town. In 1894 a Lafrance steam engine was purchased. In 1926, land on Narragansett Ave was purchased.
From the pictures on the site, I'm guessing that they they have eight pieces of equipment: two pumpers (Engines), one ladder, two tank trucks, a car, another truck (cherry picker?), and an EMS response vehicle, plus one fire boat.
On the cupola, I see probably speakers for a siren.
I didn't see any information on the web site on the number of staff or the number of alarms that are answered.
