Private George (Fruts) Fruits of the Pennsylvania
Militia served as a soldier of the American
Revolution. He joined the Militia at an early age
and reportedly lived to be past 114. This made him
the oldest surviving veteran of the war. Granting
of the widow's pension and the inscription on his
tombstone are evidence of his service and age.
