The headstone is a block of sandstone, painted silver, with hand-carved ornamentation on each side. Atop it is a book with Leroy's biographical information in raised letters:

Leroy Bowling

Born Mar. 5 1932
Died Sept. 9, 1933

Made by father

There is a complementary footstone that resembles a cushion, also with hand-carved criss-cross decoration. Both are fairly weathered, but most of the paint is intact, although a greenish patina is developing, mostly on the front of the headstone.

A note on Findagrave indicates that his parents were Joe and Lottie Bowling, who are buried on the other side of Cooke County in the historic Oak Grove Cemetery, in Woodbine. (visit link)
