The NRHP application (secondary link below) informs us that the Baptist Church was formed in mid-19th century. Aaron Benedict, from Stockbridge, Mass. obtained land for the construction of a country church sometime during 1847-1849. The Baptist congregation lasted until 1890 when then building was sold to the Free Methodists in 1909.

The stated coordinates were taken at the end of the sidewalk out from the front door.
