The plaque says:

VASABRON
Vasabron ritades och konstruerades av Emil von Rothstein och invigdes 1878. Den var tekniskt innovativ, med undervattensgjutna betongfundament och eleganta valvbågar av gjutstål från närbelägna Atlas verkstäder. Bron byggdes om för spårvägstrafik 1909. Lektorna i Jugendstil är från denna tid. Bron har givit namn åt den under 1880-talet nyanlagda Vasagatan.

This technically innovative Bridge from 1878 was designed and engineered by Emil von Rothstein. The elegant cast-iron vaulting is supported by concrete piers. Alterations were made in 1909 to allow Trams to use the Bridge. The stylish art-nouveau lamps are original.
