LU1873 - NGS 'K 1429' Metal Rod - Redding, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this National Geodetic Service metal rod from 1988 in good condition. The NGS coordinates are way off, my posted coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

IN REDDING, AT THE INTERSECTION OF EUREKA WAY (STATE HIGHWAY 299) AND PIONEER DRIVE, 19.5 M (64.0 FT) EAST OF THE CENTER OF THE DRIVE, 17.8 M (58.4 FT) NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE WESTBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY, AND 0.3 M (1.0 FT) SOUTHWEST OF A FENCE. NOTE--ACCESS TO DATUM POINT IS HAD THROUGH A 5-INCH LOGO CAP. THE MARK IS 2.2 M ABOVE THE HIGHWAY.
