Very impressive bronze marker securely affixed to a bedrock escarpment behind the American Legion Post in Alexandria.

Inscription reads:

Town Of Alexandria
Who Served Their Country
In The World War

The marker is dedicated to those from the Alexandria area who served overseas during 1917 and 1918. Included are the names of one soldier who was Killed in Action and another who died in France.
