There is a parking lot right beside the sundial.
The Heritage Sundial was constructed as a millennium project for the Local Government District of Pinawa. The gnomon is 5.3 m. high (17.5 ft) and 4.9 m.(16 ft) long. The clock face is 83 sq.m.(895 sq.ft.) made of pavers and granite stones. There are two different dials here. The outer dial shows LAT (Local apparent time) or solar time and the inner dial shows ZST (Zonal Solar Time) which is LAT with a longitude correction since the sundial is not in the centre of the time zone.
