Northam Post Office was built in 1908 and opened for business on February 1st 1909 replacing the previous Post Office which was used from 1873 and considered too far from the business and commercial centre of town. The building is of the Federation Free Style in red brick with a corrugated iron roof, at the rear there are a double storey residential quarters for the Post-master
Northam was named by Governor Stirling in 1830 after a village in England. Northam Post Shop offers a full range of services including financial, travel, passports and identity documents
