In Boston, at the Arnold Arboretum, is this 3D model of the arboretum.

The Arnold Arboretum is located in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. The main entrance is along the Arborway. There are other entrances at other locations, but the Visitor Center is located right at this one. Once you go through the gate, the building is on the right. Parking is another story. There is no parking within the arboretum - all of it is street side. Be careful driving and parking around here.

The model is in the main room of the building, where there is a natural history display, information booth, and gift area. The model is rectangular in shape and is surrounded by glass. On the sides there is text about the model and specific features in the model. There are also buttons that are labeled with features so that you can light the feature when you push it. The model is a realistic landscape of the park. The white and less detailed features are outside the park, while the colorful and detailed features are inside the park. You see the rolling hills and lush and varied vegetation i the park. You can trace the paths that run through it. There are cars and people there, too.

The model is scaled to the park physically, but the model does not represent one specific year in time. While most of the model is pretty much set in the present, there are several features present in the model that are either different in appearance or no longer exist today. For instance, there is a feature that is labeled the Benjamin Bussey Mansion of the house of the man who owned the land that the Arboretum now lies on.
The following is text found by the model:

"The over 4,200 trees and 300 shrubs seen on this model were designed and handmade to approximate as closely as possible the wide variety of species that grow in the Arnold Arboretum. The model is 7.5 feet wide and 14 feet long: the scale is 1" to 40' (1 inch to 40 feet), with a vertical exaggeration of 25%. In the surrounding neighborhoods and on the roads and pathways, there are over 2,500 people and 2,000 cars. Construction of the model took over 3,000 hours and various materials, including steel wool, acrylic, foam, glues, and pins were used to create the landscape."

The Arnold Arboretum is owned by Harvard University and jointly maintained with the City of Boston. It is considered part of the Emerald Necklace of parks that wind through Boston and were largely designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who aided in the design of this one. Admission is free, but do mind the hours.
