Placed on the right side of the main door there is a plaque that reads:
"Built by the Jesuits, starting from 1623, designed by Girolamo Rainaldi. The majestic interior, with a nave, follows the pattern of the Church of the Gesu in Rome, with rich stucco decoration. The façade remained unfinished as well as the apse and dome. The present apse is by Vincenzo Vannini (1840). Inside there is a Madonna and Child by sculptor Giuseppe Mazza. The church was restored in 1988, is now used as the Aula Magna of the University."
