FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THIS LOCALITY, COLLECTION IS PROHIBITED. One of the gems of Lake Bemidji State Park is the spruce-tamarack bog overlooking Big Bog Lake. Along the boardwalk visitors can view a variety of bog plants which are carefully labeled for quick identification. Carnivorous plants such as the pitcher plant and sundew are among the array of colorful spring flowers which also include ladyslippers, marsh marigolds, Labrador Tea, star flowers, cala lilies, and more. The 20 minute walk starts north of the campground and follows the logging trail; the last ¼ mile is boardwalk.
